A Special Skirt

When I was in Taiwan I loved to look inside my mother’s wardrobe. As soon as I laid my eyes on this skirt I fell in love with it. My mother said it was a gift. In Chinese culture, when you are getting married, it is a tradition to buy new clothes. This floral skirt is from when my parents got married and it’s so special to me. I love that clothes, just like scent, music and food, can project and create memories within us. It is like a piece of history we hold dear to our heart.

There are many things to be grateful for everyday. I love living in a place which makes me feel like I’m living in a jungle of plants. There is a park outside which every late afternoon me and Sam sit outside and watch every kind of dog you can imagine walking around. Is it just me or sometimes I find the dog and the owner look very similar too. The 10 things I am very grateful for:

*My family and friends for loving me

*Living in a beautiful place makes me happy

*Being able to wake up to a blue sky and reminisce New Zealand

*To live in a wonderful city full of friendly people

*Hot Chocolate anytime

*God always

Remember and remind yourself to be grateful. Write down 3 things each day of what makes you feel grateful. It is very often that we think we have less when we have much more.

“The world has enough beautiful mountains and meadows, spectacular skies and serene lakes. It has enough lush forests, flowered fields, and sandy beaches. It has plenty of stars and the promise of a new sunrise and sunset every day. What the world needs more of is people to appreciate and enjoy it.”
